“Going to church does not make you a Christian anymore than going to the garage makes you a car.”

Quote from Dr. Laurence J. Peter which the pastor in our church re-quoted last Sunday during the mass. How interesting this quote strike me, the analogy is quite amusing but the truth behind it is more than a kernel of corn on its weight. Maybe Pastor Jade observed less and less men species goes to church every Sunday. Hmm. Maybe he’s just sort of trying to extend the message that even how many effort or attention you give on your car, you will never be one. Huh. Come on don’t be sarcastic now, try to see the depth of this message to you. Are you also guilty of this?

Most of us, especially man have chose to pay a little more attention to our cars rather than going to church. I don’t want to sound quite a religious or whatever but this is really the truth in most cases. But hey the quote also conveys that, even though you always go to church, it will not make you anymore a Christian unless you take in on your heart. So there, don’t be a hypocrite now.

It takes 8,460 bolts to assemble an automobile, and one nut to scatter it all over the road.

Just think about how cars are being made, really. Even if you paid for that every 8,460 bolt out, wrecking it would quite be some form of disrespect to the men who had perspired in making that single car assembly. Accidents do happen, it’s inevitable but there are cases that are seemingly unacceptable and annoying to think of. Speeding on highway just for fun or racing, and drunk driving are some of the despicable cause of accidents. You can never really blame a bad weather but although in emergency case you really have to drive through it. If you don’t have any valid reason to drive in the middle of that angry weather, stay put in your houses. Driver’s error is also in the top of the causes of accidents list, although no one can really claim they are expert or professional-perfect drivers, there are errors that seems really their fault like beating the red light, not abiding the traffic laws, faulty car parts such as a dysfunctional lighting system. Really, these faults could be pointed out to the driver nevertheless.

So there, remember how your car is being made. Don’t just wreck it like you can assemble it again.

Safety is a cheap and effective insurance policy.

Really, as an insurance agent I know how expensive insurance are. From all the type of insurance, money is the only way to have them. What are the applicable insurance for an individual? Do you know? There are lots actually; health insurance and life insurance ties in number one as the most sought insurance for most of us. But there is also the accidental death and dismemberment insurance, home insurance, pension-tem insurance and a lot more. Of course, for every car owners out there, car insurance is a must. Aside from the fact that is mandated in some of the states here in US where you can’t drive a car without it, car insurance can save your soul from any contingencies that may arise. Accidents do happen. Yes?

But like with the quote, safety is the cheapest and effective insurance policy you can avail for your self. Safety includes how you take care of your car, its maintenance, making sure that the complete line of safety lineaments are in perfect working condition. And of course, the best safety of all is observing good driving habits which include submitting yourself to further driving lessons. Although maintenance and repair do take some portion from your budget, its way too small compared to the insurance policies you will pay in case you met an accident and you were the one who was at fault. Insurance policy just comes second in Safety when it comes to protecting your life.

Leave sooner, drive slower, and live longer.

A colleague said this to me yesterday when I was telling him about my experience the last time I told you about the guy in the Harley Davidson motor? But really, it might have been a mistake sharing that quote the last time. Sometimes, we tend to forget how harsh and dangerous out there in the road. As I’ve said that over speeding kills, and the number reason for us to drive at top speed is because we are in a hurry, right? This quote reminds us how punctuality could make our lives longer and safer. Leaving early for a scheduled appointment or meeting would not raise your adrenaline to run after time since you have given yourself a time allowance. Love your life and manage your time properly to avoid haste and waste.

** This quote is in contest with my previous post about being better late than never. Hehehe – But not necessarily twisting my own words but this post is a follow up or the answer to avoid having an excuse such as that. Late is always late as I said, be punctual next time.

Better to arrive late than never. Drive carefully!

I realized this when I was on a hurry yesterday morning for an appointment with a client working in City College of San Francisco. Although a 10 minute late is still a late but imagine what a 10 minute risk of fast driving can do to you? While driving at San Jose Avenue going to the place, I was going to overtake the taxi in front of me when suddenly a Harley Davidson motorcycle speeding took the lane. And bang! there he was, being rushed to the hospital. He hit the concrete barrier in Bosworth St. and San Jose Avenue intersection.

I took a sigh of relief but then I’m kinda felt sorry for that guy. So, there.

Learn from that guy’s mistake. Just remember, don’t speed drive or take unnecessary over take. Being in a hurry is no excuse for speed driving. This is one of the main rules of road safety that everyone should follow.
